RAGAN: Good day, good day, good day everyone. Hello, hello, hello. Hi, how is everyone today? Check in with yourself. How are you feeling? That’s right. Take that moment.
How are you feeling? Do you feel good? Feel light? Do you feel bright? Do you feel tired? Do you feel stressed? It’s so important to me that we all start to have a good relationship with our feelings. Yes?
So, what do you have planned today? Are you going to play today? Or is it very serious? I want to explore and play today. The playful spirit. Wow, how many of us have decided because we are older, it’s more serious. I have more responsibility. Time is moving so fast. I need to be, I need to get some things done. I need to accomplish a lot. What are we all doing? We are all fighting against time trying to be serious and get things done because now we are older. I’ve increased the digits of my age, and the playful child that I used to be is gone. Or maybe I wasn’t so playful because I didn’t get to play as much as I wanted, because of the upbringing I had. Regardless, children love to play. And guess what? So do adults. Yes, so do adults.
We love to laugh, we love to dance, we love to sing, we love to play. And you’re thinking to yourself right now, “Do I like to dance? Do I like to sing? Hmm. Am I a singer?” Are you? Could you maybe be a singer? Is that a possibility? Listen, I didn’t take up, for instance, part of my playful spirit, I started painting later in life, right? I started painting some really beautiful paintings, oil paintings. That’s one thing I took up. I also took up acting later in life. I wasn’t doing it as a young child. I started acting and performing at 18 years old, and that has gone on until now. It is not too late to find a way to bring in some playfulness into your life.
What is this seriousness that so many of us have now brought into our lives? Why do you think that’s the case? Do you think that would be coming from the soul? Or could that be coming from the ego? I mean, let’s just think about it. Wouldn’t the ego be so excited to see us not be playful? I mean, serious and driven. The only way I can get things done if I’m serious and I’m driven and I don’t have fun. There’s no time for fun. Great. Well, guess what? You just said that your ego has won. Victory for the ego. Ding, ding, ding. Yeah. That’s right. The ego wants us to be serious and driven to the point of forgetting ourselves and not being self-nurturing, and self-loving, and playful. The ego would love for us to be constantly doing and trying, and just out there in the world getting busy and forgetting to do what? Play. Play!
Take a moment with all that I just shared and just think about your life. Do you play in your life? What does the playtime look like? How often do you play? Answer all of those questions to yourself right now. Just take a few moments, become silent. Really be honest with yourself here. Good. Thank you for being honest with yourself.
Now, let’s explore after we take some deep breaths, a little further into the topic and then I’m going to lead us through a beautiful divinely channeled prayer for you to help remove any obstacles, any blocks that are in the way of you becoming more playful in your life. It’s time to enjoy your life, enjoy your life.
In last week’s audio, I spoke about how we are human beings, not human doings. So important, right? Get to be and to choose whatever you want to choose for you that is uplifting and playful and light. You get to choose and create your life. You can bring playtime every day. It doesn’t have to be hours long. You know, maybe it’s taking a new class, a painting class, a dance class. Maybe it’s trying singing for the first time, getting a singing coach. Maybe it’s going to an ecstatic freestyle dance class on a Sunday or maybe it’s going to the park and swinging at the playground. You haven’t swung in years. Just get on that swing. Maybe it’s a nice playful hike, where you go with a friend, and you choose to be light and laugh.
There are so many ways to have downtime for playtime. And so, let’s just all enjoy that, right? Let’s all enjoy having a great time playing and then whatever is standing in the way, let’s take a look at that today. I do want to help get you more centered, more grounded right here, calmer. Take a minute with me, please. Let’s take some deep slow breaths. I’m going to count to three. I’d like you to take a deep breath, moving the breath in through your nose, filling up your belly, out through your mouth, okay? On the out breath, please make a sound and just let it go. Let this breath just love you and give you energy and calm you as well at the same time. That’s what the breath can do. It’s kind of amazing. Right?
I’m going to count to three. One, two, and three (deep breath). One, two, and three (deep breath). One, two, and three (deep breath). Good. Thank you so much. Woo. Thank you. That feels so good. So, just taking in some more deep breaths, kind of a normal rhythmic breath here (deep breath). See if you can just let go of all of the thoughts of the mind. Maybe already this topic is stirring some stuff up. Can you just let it be right now? Just quiet the mind. Letting the breath take you to this place of quiet. Thank you. Thank you so much.
So, yeah, playfulness. You know, I know it’s difficult sometimes because maybe there was a parent in your life or a teacher who said to you at one point that “you need to take life more seriously. You’re never going to amount to anything.” Prove to me that you are worthy, basically is what you heard, right? So many people on the planet are dealing with what is called a worth issue. They don’t feel like they are enough. Perhaps you have got that going on for yourself, so, therefore, the playfulness, there is no room supposedly getting anything done, right? That’s you just playing. Playing supposedly is a waste of time. That is the judgment, right?
Well, what I’m here to tell you is it creates balance in life. Playfulness is receiving. How often do you just give and give and give? By giving back to yourself and being playful, you create the balance of that reciprocity of giving and receiving in life. We need both. I promise you. So what if you have gotten some success in your work and you are making money? But if you are not playing along the way and enjoying yourself, I promise you, you’ll burn out. You are not going to enjoy your job. Maybe you will have a little money in your pockets, but what are you going to do with it? Save it? Save it? Save it? Save it? Save it? Save it? And not enjoy it?
If you have a lack of playfulness in your life, you are probably saving your money consistently and to the point of where it’s just sitting there. I’m going to be really honest with you here right now. There is no guarantee of tomorrow. What we have is right now at this moment. This is the moment that is real. The now. In this moment. And this moment. And this moment. It is what is real. The past is no longer real. The future? It’s not real. Right now is real. You get to be you at this moment. And you get to choose how you want to feel and what you want to do. And let go of any of these judgments or these energies that you have picked up along the way in this life from other people that made you think that playfulness was a waste of time, or wasn’t helping you achieve your goals. I promise you, with more playfulness, you’ll be more effective, more productive, more happy about life, more excited. And in fact, more doors will open. It’ll bring you to a higher and greater place of what you wish to accomplish in this life. Balance. Playfulness creates balance, right?
So, I’m going to move us into a prayer right now to help remove any blocks, any obstacles around you becoming more playful in your life. I’d like us all to close our eyes, please take a seat. Place your hands over your heart and just let every word of this prayer move through you, move through your heart space. Please, enjoy this prayer. Thank you so much. Moving into prayer. I do want you to repeat these words first and foremost.
So, I thank you, I thank you, I thank you, Mother, Father, God. I thank you for this beautiful and blessed day. I am grateful. I am grateful for the sun shining, for the birds chirping, for the me that gets to be the me that I want to be today. Take a deep breath (deep breath). Which means I get to choose my life, I get to choose how I want to feel in my life, and I choose to play more often. I realize that in the past, I learned from my environment that playfulness could be considered a waste of time or not really giving me direction towards what I want to accomplish. And I know this is so untrue. Take a deep, slow breath (deep breath). And just listen to these words now.
Because I’ve learned that my being playful creates balance in my life. Playfulness is me receiving, giving to myself, enjoying myself, being light, feeling free. I want both the giving and receiving in my life. I know this is what creates balance. I deserve that. I’m ready for that and ask you, Mother, Father, God, if there are any blocks, any obstacles, such as any fears or worries or insecurities or irrational beliefs around playtime, please, I ask you, help me to remove them from my body right now. I want to enjoy my life. I want to enjoy myself because there is no guarantee of tomorrow. I want every moment in my life to be a moment that I choose to be present, to feel alive. And I know, Mother, Father, God, sometimes, I forget this. I forget how exquisite it feels to be alive because sometimes I just don’t feel alive. I feel like I’m on some sort of hamster wheel, the hamster in the hamster wheel mentality. Just going and going.
I’m done with that. I’m done with that. I’m ready to live, to play, to be light, to laugh, to dance, to sing, whatever makes my heart sing. I want to do these things more. I want to incorporate it into my day on a daily basis, even if it’s just for 10 minutes. Mother, Father, God, I ask you to remind me, to help me to do this more consistently in my life. I am ready. Thank you so much, Mother, Father, God, for this assistance. Help me going forward. Thank you so much. And with these words, I say, and so it is. Take a deep and slow breath (deep breath). One more (deep breath). Good.
Thank you so much for joining me today. I’m so grateful. Please, go play today. Right? Do something fun with yourself. Do your best to try to include that just being with you. It doesn’t mean you have to join in with someone else today. Let’s see if you can try doing it with you today. How powerful, how cool is that? Looking forward to hearing about all your playtime. Thank you so much. Very, very honored to be here with you on this audio. Have a great rest of your day. Many blessings. Bye-bye.
